Event Overview

Breath testing has been proposed as an elegant, non-invasive method to provide rapid diagnosis of diseases – from cancer to COVID-19 – enabling the delivery of precision medicine. In this webinar, we introduce a powerful end-to-end solution for comprehensive profiling of breath volatiles, using the combination of thermal desorption, two-dimensional GC and mass spectrometry.

Our guest speaker, Dr Amalia Berna from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, then discusses the application of this state-of-the-art technology to identify breath biomarkers associated with COVID-19 infection in children, allowing it to be quickly differentiated from other respiratory illnesses.

By watching this presentation you will:

  • Find out how thermal desorption (TD) provides sample security and integrity in breath biomarker workflows
  • See how two-dimensional gas chromatography (GC×GC) allows you to discover more from breath samples
  • Learn about the advantages of BenchTOF2 mass spectrometers for sensitive detection, confident identification and easy-to-use workflows
  • See how smart software tools can automatically ‘spot the difference’ between breath profiles
  • Hear about the real-world application of this technology for the detection of biomarkers associated with COVID-19.
