This presentation provides a discussion on the application of Selexion (ion mobility mass spectrometry) to improve separation from complex plant matrices to aide in the quantitative residue analysis of small molecules. Included are examples of the application, challenges and lessons learned, some tuning strategies, and a brief comparison of the different Selexion models.

The challenges and the lessons learned include some problems encountered using the Selexion and also different cleaning techniques, both good and bad. The tuning strategies will include two techniques utilized to successfully separate the analytes of interest from the matrix interferences.

By viewing this presentation you will learn...

  • some dos and don’ts for Selexion ion mobility mass spectrometry use
  • tips that may improve method ruggedness
  • tips and tricks to improve the separation using Selexion
  • a suggested cleaning technique
